hmmm

there are some issues i want to talk about. hope you guys just read through to the end yah?

1) our school's drama and dance team went for SYF and they came back with a Gold with Honours (GWH) each. dont feel inferior to them or feel that we did not do well because we had a Silver and they had GWH. we all did our very best in SYF and thats all that matters. anyway we did improve from our Bronze to Silver, so its a big achievement :) anyway in our eyes, GM band is still the best isnt it? :) so seriously dont feel inferior to them. we've done well and be proud of it :)

2) i am not referring specifically to anyone. i am speaking as a whole. we are from the GM band, and so we belong to the GM family. we should not be discrediting the other aesthetic groups' efforts or saying things like 'they dont deserve GWH'. i feel that its a very childish action and its not something i want to hear from anyone of you. GWH is not an easy award to get. the fact that 2 of our aesthetic groups managed to get it, means that they've worked super super hard. and i do not want anyone of you to take away their credit. we are all secondary school pupils, not primary school kids. we are teenagers and therefore, this kind of childish behavior should not be happening. be happy for them and be motivated by them as well. one day, GM band will get our GWH :)

3) if you hear others critising the band or 'looking down on the band', dont go and argue with them. we do not have to waste our saliva speaking to childish kids who cannot grow up. as long as we know what we have done, and what efforts we have put in, we do not need to care what others have said about us. if they think they are so good, and they can play your instrument better than you, den let them think this way, because seriously, they are living in self-denial. so dont waste your energy talking to them or trying to convince them anything. dont degrade yourself to their standard. we are mature people ya?

these are some of the things i hope you guys will all remember and also teach to your juniors in future. if others look down on us, we dont have to care about them. because we know the effort we have put in, and we know that we have done our best. what rights do they have to discredit us? the same goes the other way round. we have no right to look down on others or discredit them, because they have indeed put in a lot a lot of effort.

we are all one family. Band, Drama, Dance and Choir. we should be helping and encouraging one another, and not against each other ya? (as quoted from xinyi's blog)

oh and JIAYOU for your midyears! :D
do well and we'll have fun together when band starts again :D
