Hey Guys!
1) Here is a gentle reminder by the welfare committee:
Please be reminded to wipe away your saliva which you have dripped/ emptied on the floor (including the band room floor), because it is EXTREMELY UNHYGENIC! For wind players who need to empty their saliva from their instruments, you might want to bring a small container to band practices, so that you can empty your saliva into the container without dirtying the floor. Thank you!
Duty list
Groupings:
1. Saxophone + Trombone
2. Clarinet
3. Euphonium + Tuba + French Horn
4. Percussion + Double reeds
5. Flutes + Trumpets
About the duty roster…
- The duty roster is according to the group numbers and is repetitive. So if group 5 is the last group and has finished their duties, group 1 will go again.
- For 5 practices, each group will be in charge of the cleanliness and tidiness of the rooms that have been used for band practice.
Carrying out of duties:
- After the end of each practice, the group in charge will be given 5-10 minutes to clean and tidy up the room(s) used. If more than 1 venue has been used, split into sub groups to tidy the respective venues.
- Section leaders are to make sure that members cooperate and tidy fast. No one is to deliberately skip fall-out.
- The welfare team will be supervising every clean-up.
During clean-up…
- Sweep the floor, pick up litter, empty the dustbin, and arrange chairs and stands neatly.
- If you see files/photocopied scores on the floor, put them on the chair nearest to it.
- If there are original scores scattered on the floor, please pass them to any of the librarians (Rachelyn, Joelle, Si Ting, Shabira or Jia Min).
- If you see instruments/ parts of instruments/ items related to instruments such as mouthpiece covers, mouthpiece, cork grease, etc, please pass them to any of the quartermasters (Belle, Isabel, Xin Yi or Robin).
2) The next band practice is this Friday (26/08/11) from 2.30pm to 6.00pm. Please come for band on time and don't talk when Mr. Samuel is going through different parts of the piece even if it may be unrelated to you. If we caught you talking so loudly that disturbs Mr. Samuel for the first time, we will only give you a warning, but subsequent times when you talk loudly, we will have to punish you. Please also control yourself from using your phone during band practices (which include sectionals, except for breaks).
3) You are suppose to produce a Medical Certificate or Parents' Letter if you are absent for that particular band practice and please inform your Section Leader or any major before hand that you won't be coming.

Hey Guys!
The next band practice is this Wednesday (24/08/11) from 2.30pm to 6.00pm. Please photocopy the new scores (Nobody and When Spirts Soar) if you have not and pass the original scores to any librarians.
Please don't be late and try to put in your best effort for the upcoming Junior Band Concert on the 7th September. (Sec 3s please guide your junior along)

If you guys have any extra lessons/remedial , please come 30min after your respective lessons .
Inform your SL/ any of the majors if you are going to be late .

Lastly , please be reminded that you shouldn't be using your phones during band practices . You will get a warning if It's your first time , however you will have to do ten pumping each time when being caught for using phones , after being warned .

Hey People!
Great Job in our performance on Monday! You guys have put in effort and people can see it through our performance! :)
The next band practice will be on 17/8/11 (Wednesday) from 2.30pm to 6.00pm. Please rest well this few days and drink more water. Our next performance will be the junior band concert in september, so Sec 1s and 2s please practice hard and Sec 3s please guild them along.

Hello Band Members!
Next Monday will be our performance! and it is the FIRST performance for the sec 1s!
Please be in the band room at 6.45am SHARP or even earlier because we are opening the band room at 6.35am to 6.40am. Please wear your full band uniform including tie to school but can be without your blazers first. For girls, please pin up your hair and for everyone, please wear socks that are to half ankle length as we are going to check your attire and punish those who do not follow instructions. You do not need to bring any attire to change after our performance as we are wearing our full band uniform for the entire day.
Have good rest these few days and drink more water. Please don't be late because we don't have much time and have to rush things on that day.

Hello Guys!
Please be reminded that the next band practice is on this Friday (5/8/11) from 2.30pm to 6.00pm. We will be having a rehearsal with the Uniform Group for NDP this Friday. Sec 2 band members are to come after your common test for band practice and those who did not turn up today will be punished as well on Friday.
For the Senior band, you do not need to bring full band uniform this Friday but you are reminded to get your uniform ready by Monday for performance. We do not expect any ankle-length socks on the day of performance as we will check your attire. For the Junior band, you will need to bring your full band uniform on Friday for us to check. For those who are going to buy your attire tomorrow, Esther will contact you and give you the latest updates.
Please try to make it for this Friday's practice as it will be out first and last rehearsal. If you are going to be absent or late, please inform any majors or your section leader. We will expect good discipline from you guys as we will be moving instruments in and out of the band room for rehearsal.
