YO! Hope that everyone is doing well for their studies as well as Band :D

The next Band Practice will be on next Monday, 30th August 2010 @ 2.45pm sharp.

Juniors who are having English Enrichment on that day, you should come to Band before or after the course starts or ends. French Horn, Trumpets, Clarinet, Flutes and Trombone sections, please bring home and practice your instruments during Monday.

Seniors who are having make-up lessons or lessons after 2.45pm, please report to the Band room 30 minutes after your dismissal. We'll appreciate your honesty and to everyone, Monday will be our last and only practice before the performance!!! Everyone is supposed to have their Manhattan Beach ready for rehearsing on Monday.

YO WASSSSSUPP! Hahas! How's rehearsal today? I hope that everyone has enjoyed it. As told, we will be having a perfomance @ somewhere around Sentosa on 5th September 2010. It is on a Sunday afternoon! Everyone is supposed to participate in the performance and you'll rewarded with CCA Points as well as experiences. Please inform the teachers, majors and Mr Samuel if you have something really urgent on during that period of time.

The next Band Practice is on this Friday, 27 August. Please report to the Band Room by 2pm. The Room will be opened at around 1.45pm and instruments are expected to be set up by 2pm. Members who are dismissed later than 2pm, you're given 30mins to have ur lunch and come to Band afterwards. For example, If XXX dismissed at 2.45pm, XXX must reach the Band Room by 3.15pm. Do keep this in mind (:

Hi Band (: Excited about the coming concert on September? Hahas, here's the list of the songs that we'll most probably be playing:



A) Please inform your section leaders if you do not have any of the 6 SONGS. Please do take note that everyone is supposed to have all of them by the next rehearsal (25th August). Once the rehearsal starts, the librarians can choose to or not to pass you the scores you request. Do put in your maximum effort to practice the pieces and make the concert a successful one(:

B) Section leaders please collect the S$1.00 from your section members for the Band Fund. For percussion and trumpet sections, please hand in the amount to Deanna and Pamela respectively as your Section Leaders are going on Biology courses(: The Band Fund collected will be used for the Band's ROD and for the Welfare of the Band. For more queries, you may ask the majors.

C) The next Band practice is on next Wednesday, 2.30pm sharp. Those who are going for Guitar/Drum courses, we'll appreciate if you can set up your instruments before you attend the courses. The Band room will be opened at 2.15pm and by 2.30pm, everyone must have their instruments ready for warm-up and rehearsing (: Hope to see better attendance ^^

D) Please take note of the dates of the upcoming band practices:
Friday, 27th of August, there is NO band practice due to the Methodist-Get-Together
Band will resume as per normal: 2.00pm-6.30pm

E) The next Band Committee Meeting will most probably be on next Thursday, 26th August. The venue for the meeting will be confirmed soon and we'll inform every committee members through texts or conversations by next practice. Committee members, please get all your tasks done by 25August as appointed. Thank you for the cooperation :D

F) Here's a piece of Good News for most of you (: The Band has officially opened its first Facebook group now and we're totally welcoming every member to join! Although it is not compulsory , you're encouraged to join for the unity of the Band in the group :D. It will be AWESOME if the group consists of all members! HAHAS! So what is the group for?

Everyone is welcomed to post pictures, videos or even songs on the Wall of the group! However, anything that is posted MUST BE RELATED TO BAND. For example, you can post pictures of your section during break or before and after practices :D . The songs uploaded can be the songs we're playing or even nice pieces that you might wish to share with the Band! Of course, no irrelevant songs besides Band's!

Hello! Hahaha. Was drills fun? <:
Yesterday was just a short drill. We'll be having more of that in the days to come!
I hope you guys will take drills seriously as we'll be needing to submit a video-recording of the band members performing the marching routine for next year's SYF. Yeah so, be prepared for the drills!
Next practice will be on Wednesday, 18th of August, 2.30pm.

We had announced the new Band Committee yesterday after the performance and the teachers really want us to be more responsible as a band member as well as the positions we held in the Band (: . Lets try our very best in everything we do and gives audience in the November Concert a memorable impression of us!

We'll be training on our most confirmed SYF choice piece, Die Flerdermaus, from the next practices and of course, we'll try to squeeze in as many exciting and challenging songs for the Concert ! The set piece will be released during November (2 more months away) and we will have more time to practice on it if we mastered the choice piece . Hahas, its possible! Section leaders please make sure that all your section mates have Die Flederamaus by Friday .
