Yeah, Band Practices have been stopped temporarily until our exams are over (around October). Please use this short period of break to study and revise for our exams. If you're free, please practice your instrument too. The two songs that we're trying to play for the December Concert will be Westside Story and Digital Prisms. Of cos, I think that Mr Samuel will include more songs and we Westside Story is Grade 4 and I believe that everyone is able to handle it (:. Below is the recording of Digital Prisms and I can't find the recording of Westside Story that we're playing as the ones I found is orchestral version.. And please take note that Die Flederamaus is not yet confirmed for our SYF piece.

Do well for your studies! God bless! JYJY!

Hello people! (:

It's the last practice today, as Band is standing down for EOY!
Band will resume around 20october, we'll confirm if there's any changes.
Meanwhile, remember to practice! :D

Please take note that the Band camp has been changed to 23, 24, 25 Nov instead!

And, there's someone who had forgotten to take their watch today, after fall-out,
Find Ms Johnson to claim it back okay!

All the best for EOY, people!

HEY JUNIORS! YOU'VE DID A MARVELOUS PERFORMANCE TODAY!!! *ClapClap*
However, like what Elissa had said, everyone should learn to overcome with stage-fright and nervousness. Thus, we hope that for the next concert (December) everyone would come up to stage with POKER (firm and ready/steady) faces and strong confidence!

The next Band practice is tomorrow (09/09/2010), 10AM - 2PM! Absence from practice must be covered with a strong valid reason or medical certificate.

So what are we going to train and focus on tomorrow? Besides the scales, please get Die Flederamus ready! SYF and the concert are only a few months away from today and we hope that everyone can really feel the urgency and start to practice harder. Especially the Sec1s as the past few songs that you had played are just starter's series and it is really time for you all to advance to a higher standard and this can only be achieved with constant hard-work and determination and passion (: . This is also applied to everyone! An excellent result can only happen with the maximum effort and time you put in. SO, we want the Band to really be more serious and focused starting from today or NOW as this is no longer a ''playing-time'' or ''honeymoon'' period. God bless (:

Hey (: Let's aim to improve on our style of performing and cooperation and I wish to see the improvements soon. We're actually okay in our music! Is just that I realize many of you are either too shy to play out or are unable to get the rhythms right! Is okay;the seniors are here to help you but of course, everyone will need to commit to Band and should have passion towards their instruments (:.

The next piece of music we'll be focusing on will be our SYF piece: Die Fledermaus. Yes! I know that it is not easy but with commitment and practices, everyone is able to cope with the song! If we get this piece settled, we'll have more time for the Set Piece and it is as important as the choice piece! It will be delivered to us somewhere in November and we're left with only less than 2months for choice piece! Hope that you are able to feel the urgency now. JYJYS! (Sorry if I have mixed up choice piece and set piece).

To the Sec 1 and 2 Juniors who are performing for the La Sinfonie d'Amis concert this coming Wednesday! Please assemble at the Band Room @ 1pm SHARP with your Full Band Uniform, including the boots. Sec 1 Juniors please wear the same as what you have worn for the NDP and yesterday's performance. Please have your meal before coming to Band as only dinner will be delivered to you. Junior Band Incharge (Alvin), please remember to come at 1pm too! You do not need to wear full band uniform :D

Furthermore, please remember to sell your tickets by Wednesday and the seniors who are going there to support our juniors, please meet us at the ACJC gate at about 7pm (:. Wear anything you like but we prefer a formal one (:.

FOR THE SEC1 JUNIORS, I know that the Wednesday performance is going to be quite exciting for you as you have never experience the feeling on stage. Is okay! Take this opportunity to feel the tension and excitement and this is gonna to be the same as SYF! Don be nervous and just focus your eyes on Mr Samuel and your scores! Everything will be alright and trust yourself that you can make it! The seniors will be there to support you all and we wont want to be disappointed k? JY!!!!!

Hey Band!

Thank you for coming and performing today at Tanjong Beach, Sentosa while wearing BLAZERS.
Haha. I'm glad today's weather was quite cooling!

However, I don't think that today's performance was really good.
Many of you weren't really focused at all, and didn't play as good as we could have.
I believe that we can all play it better, right?
Also, I don't see you all working as a team.
Nobody offered to help the percussionist except for a few of you, even though it was clear that they could use some help. Even the teachers- Mr Samuel, Miss Johnson and Mr Sim helped out.

So, I really hope all of you will take every performance seriously, give it your best and really, help one another out on things, even the slightest things, yeap.

Next band practice would be on:
[Only for lower sec] Tomorrow, 06 September 2010, 3.30pm to 5.30pm

Seniors who have gotten the La Sinfonie d'Amis tickets for 8th September, I really hope all of you will come cause it's FULLY subsidise, and you can come and watch your juniors perform (:

Juniors who have gotten the tickets to sell, please try to sell the ticket you have got to your family/friends/relatives, ask them to support you as this would be your first concert with only the sec 1 and 2s (: Collect $6 from them, tear the grey portion for them, and give us back the small white portion.

Thanks! :D
