HEY BAND, well done for yesterday. We're probably too tired or nervous already, hence our performance was not quite expected. Don't be too disheartened by the performance yesterday yeah because we had three straight days of practices. Nonetheless, we shouldn't be complacent and do keep in mind that SYF is coming in 23 days' time! If we're able to have attendance as good as yesterday, and if everyone is able to remember to apply what's being taught, we shouldn't worry about SYF!
Its time for us to improve on our dynamics and some of the technical problems, especially the woodwinds. Also, we should also try to adapt to the change in environment. Its echoic in the halls, so please learn to listen to the other players to come in together. Furthermore, we should also learn to overcome our stage-fright so that we will be able to play well despite our nervousness. Once all these are settled, a Silver is very likely to be attained!
The Band has also organised an Band Outing next Saturday! We will go out before the exchange. Those who are interested to go, please meet us at the Aljunied MRT Station at 10AM! For more detail, refer to

YO ALL! How have you been? Stay very healthy for this two months arh, SYF is so near.
1. Firstly, please take note that we will be having 3 Practices during this March Holiday:
16th - 18th March 2011, the timings are all located at the left side of this page. You're reminded to keep yourself free for these practices as well as the SOUND CHECK. The sound check would be an unsuccessful one if one or more players are absence.
This is very important as it is our very last sound check to make necessary changes to the Band arrangement and sound, etc. Hence, you're reminded again to keep yourself free on 26th March 2011. Thank you! Sec 1 come for Practice at 1pm.
2. Secondly, if you're unable to attend any of the practices/sound check, please inform Miss Johnson and the majors by this Tuesday. We would need to finalize the total number of people for our dinner/lunch. 3. Thirdly, the exchange next Wednesday will be with the following School Bands:

- Boon Lay
- Bedok View
- Si Ling
- Gan Eng Seng
- MayFlower (not confirmed)
You may prepare something for their sections, its optional.
Please make sure you pay attention to how the Bands play on that day, especially for MOF. I don't think there will be another school playing Die Fledermaus. Aiya, you'll know that day (: There will be a lunch break after we came back to school. Then, practice will start again after lunch break. Check timing on the schedule given. Also, on the 18th March, we will be showcasing our pieces to the public.

HEY Sorry for updating late ! Anyway, Good Job for the Exchange! There were comments, saying that we sounded like a silver already but please do not be complacent! Our aim is Silver, but let's aim higher. Also, our standards could drop anytime! Thus, its really crucial for us to work even harder for the upcoming practices. You've also heard how a Gold Band somehow sounded like! Let's aim to attain such standards okay? Lastly, please remember what have you learnt through the Exchange. We'll discuss it next time (: !

YO ALL. Today's attendance was not very good. SYF is only 4weeks from now. This means that we'll have less than 12practices or so to improve on our playing standards. For those who attended practices on Wednesday, please help to inform those who were not there about what Mr Samuel told us. For example, the required dynamics, phrasing etc. These might seem to be unnecessary to some people but added up, it really makes the whole piece sound better if we follow his instructions.
We'll be having a Band Exchange programme with Bishan Park and Zheng Hua Sec this Saturday. Friday will be the very last day for everyone to inform Yuke Ling or me if you're unable to attend. ZHS is a Gold Band. I believe that we'll be able to share some useful tips with one another on that day. Let's do our best, and absorb as much as we can (: . If possible, please try to come for the upcoming exchanges. Besides being able to expose yourself to the different school bands and learning from them, you might be able to make new friends etc (:.
